Brake pad question, dubious origin...

Hi all,

I got a job lot of parts through for the R1 not long ago (clip ons, discs etc) and it came with a set of unused brake pads. These brake pads had no packaging and were a bit dirty from general crap/ being sat in a garage I imagine. They are totally unused however. They are a set of goldren sintered HH pads (exactly what is on the bike at the moment).

Seeing as I don't know the origin/ age of these pads, would it be wise to use them or am I likely to kill myself whilst getting the bike out of the garage?

Would you use them?

I used a pair of brake pads that were just wrapped in celophane no markings on them, they disintegrated within 100miles.

Added to the fact brake pads are what £15 a set AND the suck' it and see approach needs putting the calipers back together a rebuild if you are not careful. I'd probably buy some reputable ones.

if it was for a small not very powerful bike i would use them. but in all honesty with 185mph capabilitys at your right wrist i personaly would prefer to know where they came from and that they wernt made from compact mud. plus you dont no whether anything hazardous has been spilt on them comprimising there compound.

Might as well see what they are like for a few miles, I knew instantly when I put armstrong pads in the rear of my S4 that they where shit, and I bought some EBC ones later.
