Just looking at trying to get into some off roading or preferably MX riding and came across this:

https://mickextanceoffroad.com/

Anyone had any experience of these days? Are they actually worth doing or is it best to save the money to put towards a bike/gear?

Keep looking at dirt bikes but still havn't taken the plunge yet, really want to get into it though as i used to race BMX dirt when i was in my early teens and always loved MX side of bikes. It's just the in-experience putting me off, and the cost of getting into it (however much that may be, not actually sure Laughing )

Should be doing a day at freemarks sometime in the next month or so - welcome to come along and have a play on my bikes if you want.

However, plenty others have done days similar to the above and enjoyed it.

Where is freemarks?
If your offer is open to others then it sounds incredibly tempting.
I am relatively near you (surrey) and will be home within a month.

Oops - that's four marks not free marks, my bad. It's close to Alton and VERY close to the village called Four Marks Smile.

Offer's open to anyone, will post up in South East forum when I've decided on a date, etc.

I did the Yamaha Offroad school and loved it, there is a thread in this forum somewhere, it wasn't that long ago.

Four marks is good because there's a nice 'car park' bit you can start out, then a fairly easy practice track - I at least found that the first half hour or so of riding a dirt bike was just scary; with knobblies and in the dirt, the whole bike feels a lot less stable than the road.
However, if you persist you get used to the weird sensation and then go on to get a lot more comfortable with the bike sliding all over the place when you got on the throttle aggressively.

Yeah i can imagine it's just getting used to being able to control an out of control bike if that makes sense? I've been putting it off for longer and longer but now i'm working full time again i want to get into it whilst i can!
