Just down the road from my house after a little ride on the 350 (which by the way, i dropped the other day too ) I was going round this small roundabout and the back wheel just went Two kind motorists stopped and one of them kindly helped me pick up my bike as its one heavy bastard!

Not much damage at all really, exhaust and engine casing were already scuffed so i've only added to them slightly, indicators got bent slightly but i bent them back at the side of the road. the worst was the back brake pedal though, thats bent quite badly and it looks like someones covered the head of the bolt to get it off with some adhesive or something .
When i dropped it the other day the bit of metal under the right footpeg got bent to 90 degrees downwards but todays events seem to have put that back into place so thats one less thing

Dont think theres any damage to me, my wrist is starting to hurt a wee bit but i heard it click this morning (before i went out) and it hurt then so it could just be that
I was wearing full gear at the time so luckily me skin didnt feel a thing

So now we know what happened, but why??? I cant really think why it happened to be honest, i'm not going to say there was diesel on the roundabout because i dont think there was, but there could well have been.
I wasn't going too fast either, it was a small roundabout AND it was wet so i was going slower than usual and i hadn't even got to the point where i was putting on the power to come out of it.
One of the guys who stopped said he saw it all and couldn't really see any reason for it, so he though it could have been diesel or gravel on the road.

Well, the main thing is that me and the bike are fine and i know to take that roundabout at snails pace in the future.

The weather is quite bad today, i did a little drift in the car around the roundabout outside Tescos in Bidston.

Are the tyre pressures correct?

I will be out to check the tyres in a bit, although there was one thing i notice the other day. A bit of oil on one of my shocks, i'm thinking perhaps uneven pressure on suspension may cause the back wheel to slide easily???

Tyre pressures are correct though

Suppose it could just be becayse its the first time its rained for a while

I find when it hasnt rained for a while and then it does rain (and not very heavily) all it does is bring up all the crap/shit/oil and there isnt enough rain to wash it all away making it quite slippery.

Hence me taking the car in to work today (first time ever)

Could of oil of the shock got onto the tyre making it lose grip?

Agree above about rain bring up the shite.

You should go back and have a look and see if theres anything on the road, diesel etc.

i did the same thing on a small roundabout, took it nice and easy but wasnt aware that there was a patch of roadwork tarmac or something that was far more slippery mine even resulted in a ride in an ambulance

Checked the conditions of the tyre before, seems fine tbh. the front one is a bit cracked and needs changing pretty soon but i knew that when i bought it.

I am starting to think more into the rear shocks, i know i dismissed this in an earlier post but it could have been oil from the shock on the tyre. Its gone on the swingarm! so it wouldn't be suprising if it found its way onto the tyre.
That, and perhaps uneven suspension pressure at the back, maybe that could cause the back end to slide
Only problem now is getting a new set of shocks, £60 a pair off wemoto but i suppose it'll have to be done

Still cant believe i've dropped it twice now and i've only been riding it 6 days! the plastic tail piece on it is now pretty F**ked!

Plus: Another possibility, It was around a farm type area so muddy surface/tyre could be the culprit.

Are you sure it's not fling-off from the chain covering the swingarm and shock? Especially if this is only happening on one side.

If you touched the white paint on the island, whilst the brakes or power were applied, that would likely cause a wheel to lose traction.

It wasn't one of the White painted island roundabouts, it was one of the raised platform of plants ones.

Also it's the right hand shock that's got oil on it so it's opposite side to the chain.

Apart from the paint being naturally slippy, alot of shit will also gather on that part of the road as not many tyres will run over it.

The painted white lines and marking on roads can be just as bad too, and especially those shiny black tar lines that join areas of tarmac. Those things are fucking lethal, much harder to see!
