My bike was turning over a month ago- but has become decreasingly difficult to start- and now is not starting. The bike was in pieces and I put the carbs together myself last summer. ( the bike was in a box!) Put in a new air filter- choke works- but the mixture of fuel/air is off somehow (spark plugs are carbon fouled-replacements foul in a very short time) There is some leakage of gas from carbs. I am thinking maybe the leak is in the connection of the carbs to the engine. I've replace gaskets in top and bottom bowls.

If anyone has any ideas of what to do or can offer some advice- AND dont tell me its too old and get a new one!!! This bike is quite a little treasure.

thanks a lot-

If there was a leak between the carbs & the head it would run lean from sucking air in, not foul the plugs.
If it's pissing gas then it's probably a sticky float or crap in the float valve. I've got a crate full of KZ650 carbs but that ain't gonna help you any as I'm in Califfornia...

One thing that cases KZ's to foul plugs is a blocked inlet on the air box, no plastic bags under the seat is there?
