Bike dropping

Have you ever dropped your bike and caused no damage whatsoever?

I came home from work before and had what can only be described as a moment.

Got off my bike and I hadn't put the side stand down. Consequently the bike hit the deck. After a major D'oh I picked the bike up and inspected it but there is absolutely no damage! Nothing bent, scratched or scraped and I just can't believe it.

Anyone else had something similar happen?

Pushing my ybr out of a parking space, too far from the front brake and it was a slight down hill, as i steered it to the left it got a bit of momentum and over it went!

nothing damaged just had to was a min or two for it to settle down and start again

I've had bikes so battered that dropping them did no noticeable damage...but I'm not sure if that's quite the same thing

I managed to drop the Bandit on the left hand side on to a concrete drive just last week when a novice pillion got off before I was ready - I was just about to put the side stand down, so had my left foot off the floor
Was trying my best to hold the bike up, but it was already past the point of no return. So the bike was reluctantly lowered, rather than dropped - but thankfully no new scuffs that I can see...

I've also previously dropped the bike on the right side on to tarmac (in full view of one of the works CCTV cameras ) when getting it off the centre stand on sloping ground. A slight scuff on the bar end, but that was all.

Some years ago with the GPZ, I dropped the bike when taking a U turn and found an oily patch in the road. Snapped the metal blob off the end of the brake lever, and cracked the indicator lens, but had minimal damage.... Having said that, the GPZ was that old that an odd minor scratch probably wouldn't have been noticed


And just for the record, 4 years with a crapped out GPZ, and I dropped it once...
It's only been 7 months with the Bandit and she's already been dropped twice

Dropped the cbr right outside work last week. Pulling out of my parking space, tight right turn around a car and down she goes. I had leaned and commited to the turn when my bike decided it didn't have enough petrol and cut out Not a scratch luckily.

The Pan has sacrificial "winglets" on the lower fairing.

I've slid it at low speed and just scuffed one of these (<£15 part)
