Helmet size...

I know the general sizing guide when choosing a helmet and I have been down to my local dealer to try a few on.

I found that the stupidly priced £400-500 ones (only tried them out of curiosity) actually fit worse than the really cheap ones and some were bloody heavy!!

I had a guy advising me and even he said that the £45 one was a better fit and therefore safer......

My problem is that, I am doing my CBT this friday 25th and am now getting worried that they may not have a helmet that fits me!!

I'm at the high end of an XL and even some helmets of that size were too small.

I may have to just ask them to rig up the coms onto my helmet!?!?!

Buy the £45 helmet?

Or go to the school and try some on?

I'm a tad devil may care tbh as mu nitro never fit me properly (it did when I had lots of hair but never when I had a hair cut) and I crashed a few times in it and walked away (YMMV as I bounce).

I found I had an odd shaped head that NO helmet fitted until I found a Shark Helmet.

The comms will be an ear piece thing which loops over your ear to hold it in place so its not really a case of rigging it to your helmet.

Buy a cheap one and after a few 100 miles riding you'll soon find out what you want from a helmet. You'll likely factor in noise-reduction, 'steaming up' prevention and comfort along with a few extra things you might wish you had (pinlock, seatbelt clip or tinted lens)
