Rxs 100 Electrics

Hi guys

I've got a RXS100 which has been stood for a while.

when i try the horn / indicators whilst the engine is not running they are pretty poor, When the engine is running they work fine.
I have cleaned as many connections as possible including the switch gear.

New horn fitted.
New battery fitted.
Awaiting new indicators.

Any advice greatly recieved

That's 6 volt electrics Although it does sound like you might have a poor earth connection. Probably already done so, but if not make sure the two main earth points are sound. It's common for rust or corrosion to make the already poor electrics even worse.

I'll double check.
It looks like someone has messed with the earth in the back indicators so i'll run a earth direct to the battery to try and discount this as a problem.

Well new indicators turned up but were fitted with capless bulbs .
So does anyone know where i can get some 6Volt 21Watt capless bulbs?

Instead i fitted new bulbs to the old indicators and put a new earth onto each of them and connected to a clean earth on the frame. All working

The horn was fixed by turning the little screw at the back which was temperamental but now works.

i got my new indicator bulbs from www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/RXS_100/83-85/ have a look on there.
whilst on the subject my indicators dont work when engine running or not could this be a earth problem or a loose wire behind the head light?
