I've always been a great believer in the principle of an eye for an eye but some peoples seem to interpret this idea a bit too literally

I think an eye for an eye is a good idea.

I think Israel should re-acquaint itself with this lesson in moderation, as they currently kill about 100 palestinians per dead Israeli.

An eye for an eye will leave everyone blind.

Didn't Jesus teach you anything?

I think that one came from Mahatma Gandhi.

Nope I think Jesus did thatt one. Jesus did, turn the other cheek and do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

He also did a good take out picnic with fish and bread, also ran a cheap off licence.

Just goes to show that as much a we slag Britain off, maybe it`s not such a bad place to be.

Mind you if someone crippled me, i`d be looking for revenge?
Easy to think how barbaric that sentence sounds when your not persnonally involved.

No Jesus was much misunderstood.

It was gandhi that said an eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind.

The thing about turning the other cheek is slightly different. A person of high status would slap a lower status person in a backhanded manner. Turning the other cheek was actually about being demanded to be treated as an equal. You show the other cheek, inviting the person to try to deck you. They either back down, or try to deck you and you are then entitled to hit back just as hard. A bit more Stallone than Ghandi.

Jesus is the same guy who lost his temper in the temple over merchants and money lenders making their business there. He'd kick some serious ass if he heard about cathedral gift shops and tea rooms.

I think it might make car drivers a bit less likely to pull out on bikers, if they knew one or two people who had been killed or paralysed for killing or paralysing a biker.

I`ll opt for a 20 year sentence to any car driver that pulls out on a biker Smile
