I need to get my major service done with valve clearances / shims doing also. I do quite a lot to my bike myself but don't really want to delve that deep past my abilities! I've been quoted around £400 by a few places around Leicester. I don't have £400 so thought I'd ask if anyone knows of any private mechanics that can do it for less? Quite a bit less infact!

Can you just get a quote for them to do clearances and you do everything else? Don't know about your bike but it's not the most difficult job in the world, providing you can get easy access to stuff.

I'm with Carlos on this Wahlberg. The times I have heard, 'it's alright for you, you know how to do it!'
Yep! Me and Carlos were born with Haines in one hand and tool kit in the other! Laughing
Generally these jobs look much more daunting than they turn out to be, trust me!
