Just venting my frustration really!
Picked up my ZX6R with 2 shiny new BT023s on. Want to ride off and scrub them in but its raining heavily enough to make me want a canoo. Somehow I feel it will end in less tears if I wait for the rain to let up before I head out but its a battle of willpower to wait

I got brand new Michelin Power Pures a few weeks back, pissed it down on way, got them changed, hammered it down after, rode home like i was on ice. Just avoid lean angles and throttle. No problem Smile

New tyres aren't as bad as everyone makes out.. if they were more people in all types of vehicles would crash.

Tyre companies would be sued left right and centre, regardless of any disclaimer, since mostly they don't hold up in court.

Just don't go mental, keep it reasonably upright and you will fine.

I am a fair weather rider only, so this is my advice.

Also, when I do get caught out in the rain, I ride like a little girl all the way home! Sad

Hardcore riders ride in the rain. It's dangerous, fun and demanding and tests your abilities more than riding fast in dry weather. It's pretty torrential in london so would MUCH rather don on my gortex and rag it to work in 30 minutes rather than sticking around in a muggy train!

As for scrubbing in, take it gently and keep throttle to <50%. Brake progressively and plan ahead. You'll be fine with BT023's. They're as good as any sports touring rubber.
