Guys (and girls)

My aunty just bought me an brand new R6 for a late 21st birthday present (and paid for a years insurance Thumbs Up ).

I've had a quick ride on it (and scared myself s**tless in the process). Is there anyway i can slow the acceleration down a little bit and make it not so wheelie happy in 1st?

Cheers

I would prefer not to restrict it 33bhp, is it possible to retard the ignition timing?

Bloody 'ell. Luckey boy!

I dont think it's worth spending any money on making it slower, you may as well just be easy with the throttle. That or select a higher gear on purpose so you would get less torque/power.

Or you could up-gear it, ie use smaller sprockets on it. This would give you a higher top speed, but slower acceration. (Think ive got that right).

But is it worth it, shelling out on a new sprocket/ new sprockets, when you could just use less gas, or higher gear... Question

Just take it easy. Dont ride it like you old bike, becuase the old one is much slower, ride it like a new power-full bike, ie with respect. Thumbs Up

Don't twist the throttle as quick! Laughing

Give it a few months to get used to the bike and you won't want to keep the front down.

/me goes off to search for rich auntie.

As has been said twist the throttle less and snick it into third quicker so that it keeps the front down and makes the acceleration less harsh. Larger capacity bikes can live in higher gears easier than smaller machines at lower speeds without stalling.

I get the Blade out of first as quickly as I can and ride a gear higher in the wet to exit islands/junctions smoothly/safely. Smooth riding = longer tyre life, better petrol consumption and longer rider life.

Good luck.
