I did do a search but wanted to know what's current and who appears to offer the best deals for 16 year old and 18 year old specifically.

Thanks in anticipation Thumbs Up

But not 17 year olds?

H&R and MCE were always pretty cheap when I started out.

Nah!
Sorting out some info for someone just starting out and also someone in first year after college/6th form. It appears some companies have different age breaks for 18, 21 and 25. Looks like 25yrs is the biggie though.

Why I can't interest them in a pushbike I don't know Very Happy

FWIW just got an online quote via Bennetts for an amount that didn't make me ill. Did phone H&R earlier as theywere one of my previous insurers. For 18yrs with 1yr NCD it was very high (FWIW on 25yr old CG125). Will try MCE. Thanks.

Any more ideas welcome.

Tell them to stop being so lazy and do it themselves......

Check out the compare sites. Saves a lot of leg work

FWIW looked into MCE and got a very good quote.
Then went to CIA and get a better one.

Just need to pick through the details wrt excess, legal cover, etc. and the devil will be in the details Mad

Still open to suggestions (no, not that kind Rolling Eyes )

Thumbs Up

www.simplyinsurance.uk.com were super cheap for me last year, but apparently aren't doing bike insurance any more (although I wasn't paying much attention to the lady as the bike was off the road anyway). May be worth giving them a call, I think she said bike insurance through them was being run by another company or something.

is it balls, mine went up by £100 this year. only the classic went down and that was by a £5 (and that doesn't build no claims)

21 is a big drop, it was for me anyway.

I insured with bennetts this year, which surprised me as up till now they haven't been very competitive.

Falcon bike insurance before now have always done quite well, good as a younger rider.

19, Blackbird £600 Tpft

19, Zx12r £800 Fully comp

I paid something like £300 last year for a 600 hornet but was told it was high because of the obscene modification list, falcon though were still cheapest up to this point.

But this year (22) Bennets were best at £188 Fully comp on bmw r1100s.
