50cc urm derestricting sould give u about a 20% increse, dont bother with big bore kits just get a real bike

If its a 50cc scooter int u restriced to 30mph?? makes it easy 2 get busted if your doing 40mph

from years of 2 strokes id say if it works fine leave it alone!

i have to wait until i'm 21 to get a real bike cause i restricted to a max of 125cc or 33bhp! you are not trying to say a 125 is a 'real' bike are you!
i just found out that derestricting the bike gives you 50mph - tweaking the engine can get you 60-68mph - not bad for a 50.
i personally think 125's are a waste of time - whats the point in spending all that money and insurance on a little 125! wait until you 21 and get a real bike, before that, get a cheap little bike to do whatever u want

My mate has got one of those. he said when it was restricted it would just about hit 25-30mph and that was flogging the thing. but now that it is de-restricted he has had 60mph on it down hill. So that is not so bad is it Smile

125's r not a waste of time they r alot of fun and if u r saying 100 mph is crap erm something wrong with you. 50's arnt even classed as bikes they are all "mopeds" those gillera things are the uglyest thing on two wheeles. and i'm going to get my bike this year at 18. u can have alo o fun on a 125.

125's rule when it comes to town riding. The 0-60 is usually very good. It's only when you get on the dual carriage ways that the size shows. Anything over 90 mph is a struggle as the acceleration is very slow.

I dunno what a GSM is, but if it's anything like those DNAs then it's a scooter shaped like a very UGLY motorbike, hideous things. I laugh seeing kids riding DNA's they look like they've been thrown onto the top of it, hunched over the handlebars.

your not restricted to 125 until your 21, just 33bhp. and those restrictors often fall out.

If I can afford it when the time comes, I'd like to keep my 125 as a winter bike/rain bike/bike for when the Ducati has broken down.

At the moment it looks like I'd have to P/X it though Crying or Very sad

Then the same can be said about 600's vs. litre bikes or the hypersports.
160mph or 190mph???
Knob. The whole point of the 125 is to get some riding experiance and get used to the roads befire you have to get used to 100bhp as well.
And 125's are great fun, you can thrash the tits off them without risking your license in first gear!!

And when you blow the engine up they are cheap to fix, or cheap to buy a 2nd hand engine (and you can carry the 2nd hand engine back on the pillion seat of a bike), unlike a 1200 Bandit which goes bang, has loads of bits that cost vaste amounts and a 2nd hand *^&% heavy engine will cost £650.

Not that I am bitter

All the best

Keith

Keith m8y, I do believe that you forgot to log on Very Happy

As for carrying an engine on the pillion seat, bollox to that, you could carry it home in your pocket Laughing

Have you bollocked the RAC yet??
