Its not about criticism and unfriendliness IMO.
Its about a number of things:

A) This forum originates from NSR125.com and so has a soft spot for two stroke 125's

B) There is a lot of advice on this forum regarding spending money on mods on a 125. To paraphrase Dr Samuel Johnson from Blackadder III:
Modifying a 125 is like fitting wheels to a tomato; time consuming and ultimately pointless.

See, the thing is, the general opinion on this forum is that money spent on these mods could just as well be spent on test training and then a bigger bike. We have nothing against 125's of course, we were all there once!

Welcome to the forum I'm in XTC and rossirep46! Smile

thanx for a human reply.......

i run a 2 poke 125, and have for years.... i come on here and what do i get, my bike looks like a trifle!!! then i spot my bro gettin shit....

yeah the money may be better spent on training, but i have ridden for over 10 years, and with a ban a few years back cant afford a bigger bike yet....

hell my rs 125 shows 400/600's up all the time..... thats what spending on mods can do!!

i'll hang around, but my karma is stretching.................

Marjay is right, a lot of people here have a soft spot for 2 strokes, I had an RS 125 myself but most people here had an NSR once so a lot of people don't like 4 stroke 125's straight away, kind of biased but thats the way it is.

This is a friendly forum and if you look at other posts you will notice that help and advice is given out all over the place, were a friendly bunch really. Saying that you bike sounds like a 400 doesn't go down well when the bike sounds nothing like a 400, Mikes CBR 250 with a sports can doesn't even sound like a 400, that may have something to do with it screaming at 19,000 revs.

If we weren't a friendly bunch I wouldn't have pointed out that I have seen rossierep around I would have just left it and totally ignored you if I see you on the road again, if I do see you around you'll be sure to get a nod!

lol

good point shuan, and scouse has already pm'd me so yep some of you r decent guys...

i'll be sure to give ya a nod too m8

just gettin my hackles up sticking up for my brother, u know how it is......... heart over head etc.... lol

LMAO, 400cc yeah right.

Sounds like a 4 stroke 125cc single which it is, sounded quite a bit like a cg with the baffles taken out. But a 400 no way.

You can't call a XTC 125 a beast Rolling Eyes , all of 15bhp WOW.

no i dont mean looks wise m8,

my little rs is pushing out 36bhp, and does 0-6 in 6seconds.....

because its light and manouverable i can use it to my advantage in traffic and thrash the pants off 400's and 600's,

get the rs 125 on a twisty road, like the cat and fiddle road, and watch me keep up with 600's!!

ha ha ha ha

the two bikes in the pic bellow couldnt loose me on the cat and fiddle!

im not a spotty 17 year old either, im a dad have my own house and a mrs..... Exclamation

You would easily keep up with bigger bikes on the cat and fiddle road because it is a slow road. Thats a zx6 not an R6 and it looks like a hornet too.

yep your dead right shaun, my mistake when i named the jpeg.... well spotted....... doh!

still a good road to prove the rs125's worth, twistys r more fun than straight out top speed blat in my book!! anyone can go fast on big roads, corners is where u can show people up, its great to see a guys face on a 600 as you match him round a bend and into the next..

I'm in XTC,

glad there's another one of us out there. Nothing wrong with the Sachs in my opinion. Think its great. Okay, so it's not the fastest bike in the world but I see it as a means to an end and its plenty good enough for that. Plus, it's a good looking bike IMO

Sound gets changed a LOT with an EQ.

If it sounded like a 400 with the EQ's flat, I'd be impressed.

I can make my 2stroke NSR125 sound like an NSR500 with lots of clever EQ work.

And believe me, I know how Very Happy

It doesn't impress me or make me think that it is actually a 400cc or anything else. This is what I think of it, and what you think of it is what matters at the end of the day. It's your money so spend it on what pleases you, not what pleases others.

I am part of the group who does not believe in spending lots on tuning up a 125cc, but if you want to spend your money on doing that then so be it, it's your choice to make not mine and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to me really. And if it did then I'd be bothered about it, but as it doesn't I really don't mind what you choose to do with your bike, or anyone does with their anything as long as it's not having a bad effect of others.

Glad you're liking the bike, and enjoying doing stuff to it. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I don't care if it sounds like a bee in a tuna can... that is a sweeet looking bike. Lets reinforce the frame and mount an all aluminum 350cc in it!

Oh and what does this mean? "It eats blades"

Basically, when an engine has been tuned so much it would be impossible to tune it any more otherwise the pistons would just not be able to tak the pressure and give up. A good way of testing if it has got to this point is by dropping a blade of some variety into the exhaust, now this is dangerous because if it isn't tuned enough the blade will stay in there and probably do some damage. If your engine is tuned enough your engine will destroy the blade through the amount of heat the engine creates when the pistons go up and down.

I actually managed to break my RS 125 doing this because it wasn't tuned enough. Crying or Very sad

Will that include blades of grass.
Or is the regular method the best, ie use of razor blades? Laughing

Ever tried fireblades?

Yes, sounds very poorly for a 400cc sounding bike.
