EDIT: new pics bottom of the page

Picked up a hamstring injury playing football couple of weeks ago, last week I decided that although I was not able to run, a stint in goal wouldn't do any harm..........
https://i878.photobucket.com/albums/ab349/slyrob/3620f8c0.jpg
tis now slowly moving down my leg and going a more brown/green/yellow tint rather than the initial black/purple look.
not particularly painful but looks nice, anyone else pick up a nice bruise this week?

A return to Muay Thai after 6 months and starting mma ensures I will have bruises for the foreseeable future. Laughing

These leg bruises can have you limping for weeks.
Had a deep thigh bruise didn't look bigger than a tennis ball and seemed trivial at first, but slowly the muscle tightened up and could hardly bend my knee for a month - no biking.

By the looks of things, I'd say you're playing football with 900 lb gorillas. Thinking

I was wearing kevlar jeans but this is a little reminder that if those armour inserts were in I would not be walking like a twat cowboy now! The jeans have two little wear marks on the knee through the denim and my jacket has a small hole in the elbow, it was impact bruising not a slide

I've always been led to believe it is burst blood capillaries under the skin.

That's correct. I know it may seem counter productive but if you ever get a black eye, go home immediately and make a cut at the bottom of the bruise and it will drain the blood and hey presto, no more black eye.

Should probably add that it IS also counterproductive in terms of possible infection/mishap.

Yes, and post pics to see if it actually works. Laughing I've seen it work on bruised nails, so... err... give it a blast?

My dog jumped up, excited about getting her dinner - and the top of her head bumped my eyebrow really hard.
I could feel the area above my eye filling with blood, literally pumping with every heartbeat Confused
So I stuck a hypodermic needle in it: problem solved.
I still had a black eye but it would've been closed up without intervention.

Interesting, I've used the hot needle through the finger/toenail several times on the advice of my brother in law and if done quickly enough you usually save the nail but never tried it with flesh! Idea

my latest bike injuries Smile

This one ended in a broken femur just above the knee, surgery needed 3 screws implanted

This one ended up as a shifted knee cap, broken wrist, one of my screws pushed in further and slight seperation of previous break!

Good effort, you win nothing unless like me you win the unswerving annoyance of your wife! She pretends she doesn't like me injuring myself but when she met me I had two casts on!!
