That scheming, slimy cnut Murdoch has 2 days left to attempt the taking over of BskyB. Vince Cable has asked Ofcom to look into it.

It would really help if you mailed Ofcom via the site below. Ofcom have 2 days left to decide, so let them know what a terrible thing it would be to give this dreadful man any more media outlets for which to peddle his right wing agenda, as soon as possible.

Don't let him do to us what Fox "News" is doing to the US.

Thanks. Thumbs Up

Neither do I tbh, just so long as it's not Murdoch. He controls far too much media already, if he's allowed to take over BskyB as well we'll be well on the way to having our own disinformation service, the British Fox News.

Even if you don't personally care, please think about what'll happen to the quality of this country's news services if he's given free reign (and remember, this is the man whose aim it is to totally destroy the BBC.)

The Beeb isn't perfect, but it's still one of the best safeguards against the idiocracy he would love to see take over this country.

Shocked Shocked Do you actually read the shite that comes out now!?!?

Though I have seen the crap that comes out of the Fox News network, one particular cretin over in the US that springs to mind is Bill O'Reilly, he is scum of the absolute worst kind.

Still, unless OfCom plans to give him multi-millions of £££ in compensation, Murdoch will get whatever the fuck he wants, he rubs shoulders with the Primeministers and Royalty after all, so it's hopeless (and the whole affair probably just for show) anyway.

Actually, I disagree. I cannot stand O'Reilly either, but much worse and far more insidious is those triple a arseholes, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. Not to mention that vapid whore, Gretchen Carlson who face I could quite cheerfully punch in until my arm got tired (and then do her afterwards...or first, maybe...).

I'm not convinced it's a lost cause yet though. Vince Cable originally looked likely to give the go-ahead until all of the protestations, and I think what's happening is that he's genuinely looking to block it, using Ofcom to help him legitimise it.

So, though you're probably right, while there is still the slimmest of hopes I'm still going to continue doing what I can to throw a spanner in his works until it ends, one way or another.

If anyone thinks this country is screwed up now, just wait till Fox News is broadcasting deceit and lies and propaganda day after day after day.

Sure.
The BBC is run by a clique of Lefties and their news coverage might just as well be a presenter reading snippets from The Guardian newspaper. Their bias towards The Labour Party and their hatred of all things Tory is clear for all but the blinkered to see.

ultimately there is no unbiased media..because somewhere along the line there will be the man pulling the strings, so as with many things be it tv or news papers ultimately its a collection of peoples personal opinion's. Few years ago the bbc started giving the labor party shit...then the labor party announced a review of the license fee saying it could be lowered... within about 2 seconds the bbc had shut its mouth lol.
Most of the papers who "pick a side" in elections etc most likely pick the side thats going to make there owners the richest.

Its all bollocks anyways and if somebody is stupid enough to vote not vote or form an opinion on anything because peta 23 from london on page 3 of the sun says how much she likes summin then i can reccomend a cure https://www.netdoctor.co.uk/sex_relationships/facts/sterilisation_men.htm

It may not fix their own issues but at least man kind will be protected from more idiots spreading genes Wink

The BBC is an establishment mouthpiece. But don't confuse the govt of the day with the establishment.

Oh, there's bias certainly, there always will be, but, are you suggesting that BBC News is in anywhere near the same league as Fox News for misleading their viewers?

If we were to properly measure the bias, lies, deceit and propaganda between the two, I have absolutely no doubt that Fox would be come out a lot, lot worse out of it than the BBC. In fact, I'd put money on there being more disinformation in one day on Fox than in a month or more on the BBC.

We probably would disagree to what degree it is, and the benign or malign nature of it, but otherwise yes, to a certain extent I wouldn't actually argue with that statement.

You only have to observe the BBC's coverage of the royal engagement and the gushing (nauseating) enthusiasm of its presenters to know how bent it truly is. The BBC is Fox with a lower-case f.
