How about go to one of the many bike racing events in this country which will be far cheaper and can be done in a day.

Sat under a brolly watching some production bikes in britain, or sat in the tuscan hills of italy with a 150,000 valentino fans in 36 degrees of sunshine watching the finest race on earth? The whole idea to go abroad is that it gets us out of the country and means we can blast through the italian scenery on the way there!
