Had the R6 delivered yesterday afternoon Very Happy . Gonna take it out for a good ride, get used to it etc...

It's looking lovely got it sitting in the living room (much to the g/f's disgust Very Happy )

Quick question though, i've been told i need to get the oil changed pretty soonish, when do I do this?

Is it a brand new bike? If so the running in period normally ends up with a lot of little particle in the oil you don't really want, so a oil change in the first 500 miles is common place.

If its a second hand bike it may just be due an oil change soon.

O its very true....

You will probably find that the oil they will give you from new will be a "crap " basic mineral to aid the run-in process. And yes, small metal particles will be transfered into the oil, when the engine is being run in. After that you want new oil in there: no crap floating around, no matter how microscopic it may be. Engne doesnt like bits floating around.

After that run fully synthetic in it. Only the best.

Hello guys (and girls)

Yeah spent the most of my waking day out on the bike, starting to suffer from a bad back though. Not so keen on the riding position anymore. I have to say it's quite frustrating when you get on a fastish A road, watch hundreds of bikes go flying past you, I just wanted to let rip with the throttle and join them (couldn't though due to running in the bike)
