Hey guys, bike developed a wierd problem, when riding along, the front wheel and handle bars shake, making the bike fishtail a bit. Almost like the start of a tank slapper.

With the bike stopped, if i wobble the handlebars, the wheels shake but lag a bit behind it, like a nut somewhere has some loose... anyone shed any light? Cheers guys

Wheel bearing failed? Axle nut loose? Yoke pinch bolts loose? Steering bearings loose or failed?

Sounds like headbearings need adjusting or replacing.
Thumbs Up

Cheers guys, im gunna go for head bearings, take a look at them, axle nut, yoke nits and the spindle nuts are good, as is the wheel bearing Very Happy

If i put it in a different way, holding the front wheel between my legs, i can still wiggle the handlebars.. feels like something is loose somewhere

Loose (or snapped/missing) mudguard bolts?
There should be a "brace" that tries to keep the forks doing similar things
I know on my cafe CG, that doesn't yet have the brace nor mudguard, the bars properly move from side to side with the front wheel clamped in place

Regards
Rob

It's worth checking if either the top or bottom yokes are cracked, I've had one 'go' on me.
