Eastern European styling, which is not to everybodies taste.
Personally I dont mind it!

A good friend of mine was into his MZ`s and I had a few goes
they were never the fastest, but they never let me or him down .

Easy enough to put right and I cant remember ever needing any specialist tools to do it.

I believe that "Burwins" do tune up bits for them as well, I think/possibly??

Really like it's looks.

So being a 2 stroke you have to mix in oil? Is this expensive?

Never owned a 2 stroke so wouldn't know.

Top speed is only 50mph? Would it take 60mph continuous? How is it long distance.

MY lad had an ETZ 125 pre his test and I had the 250 version
as a project
AFAIK
ETZ's had a front disc and an oil pump among other things
The bike on Ebay isnt an ETZ so will assume its a pre mix TS type
that means for every litre of juice you bung in you will have to
add (20-30% ish?) of 2T oil.
As said theyre basic and pretty rugged but spares arent as easily available
as they were, compared to say Jap 125's for instance.
I consider that one more of an enthusiasts bike.

I thought The ETZ was fun to hack about on and rode better than a CG125
(I kept thinking an ETZ frame with a CG lump would have been a good mix.)
We had to stick a pre mix TS motor in when the ETZ ( pumped oil) motor siezed up
It was ok for while but my lad confused the ratios, put too much oil in and choked it up.
He got fed up and flogged it.

I fail to see how that bike on Ebay is a 'Cafe' racer
Looks a pretty standard TS to me

Personally I'm not fan of two strokes, a jap 4 stroke will give better MPG
plus better spares backup and I'd be looking for one of those instead.
Thats just my own bias of course.
If you want something different, like the smell of 2T and the Crazy frog sound, go for it.

That's a TS125, not an ETZ.

Not much difference mind. A piece of genuine Soviet-era East German history.

They were designed to get as many East German factory workers into their work using as little money and fuel as possible. They sold them over here for a similar purpose.

I reckon the TS is a nicer looking bike than the ETZ.

Don't expect it to be refined, don't expect it to be quick.

What it does have in its favour is simplicity and character. You can tell an MZ is approaching. The first clue is the pall of blue smoke in the distance. The second clue is the distinctive "bung, bung, bung" exhaust sound.

I like them, they don't pretend to be anything they aren't. You're realistically looking at the world going by at 55mph.

I'd suggest you seek out the small but fairly active MZ owners groups.
Like lots of owners groups they'll have heaps of experience and
advice to share.
