double bouble screen worth it? 6 "4 tall

I have a zx6r f3 1997,

I was wondering if a double bubble screen would be worth while, I'm 6 "4 and have to duck down as i get buffeted a lot by the wind.

would one of the screen help? and if so is there a type or personal recommendation for a screen to fit my bike.

I think whatever kind of screen you get you'll get battered by the win a fair bit being so tall on a 600.

yep, I'm 6ft 5 with a ZX9R with a Double Bubble - you get battered regardless.

I call it character building.

From experience a bigger screen usually pushes more air into your helmet making the wind noise worse.

I just wondered if it improved things,

its not a real hardship just at higher motorway speeds it would be nice to have slightly more protection!

as the screens are not that expensive

If you want protection get a Pan Euro or something, not a sports bike. If you look at people racing at the TT they have huge screens, but still rely on the riders helmet being part of the airflow so even tucked right in there will still be wind noise.

I was looking for improved areodynamics, as well side effect would be more speed!

I find when it comes to balance there's only so far you can crouch down anyway. If you're being buffeted by crosswinds the lower your centre of gravity the harder it is to correct the bike when the wind steers you off course, so I have to keep a more upright position to assist leaning when it's windy anyway.

I have got a double bubble on mine, and it looks smart, but it only offers about an inch higher protection from the wind. Seems a decent brand though, it's a Puig.

What colour is your bike, seems choice is clear/smoke to dark.

Think imight go for the dark one as the bikes in silver

Don't bother, the taller you are the worse it is. When you're over 6ft it just pushes more wind into your face making more wind noise on your helmet.

I fitted a double-bubble flip screen to my 'busa and it made a hell of a difference to wind-blast. A regular DB didn't have so much of an impact. Look around for one with the top-egde up-turned (flip) and try it - as you say they are cheap.

Another advantage was it was easier to see the clocks, especially the indicator warnings.

As others have said it'll just make the wind blow into your face rather than your chest. It gets annoying quickly, trust me. Laughing
