Anyone else listen to him. A mate suggested I listen to him and I have and I like.

He has about 15 albums which I am sourcing now but are there any more musicians of this style that are the same quality or better?

Interesting fact, Satriani taught Steve Vai how to play guitar and the met up later on and performed together.

I should have said I knew about Steve Vai in the original post. Embarassed

Yeah I figured if you know about Satch you'd know about Vai, but was worth a shout.

You could try Michael Angelo Batio too.

Paul Gilbert? Maybe a bit different though. Some examples:

My favourite:

Jason Becker? Sadly diagnosed with ALS at 20 years old. Don't really know anything about him but I like this:

Maybe worth finding out more.

Jan Cyrka and Ritchie Kotzen are both widdlesome chaps. I don't know where I got it (or where it is now!) but I had a tape of Jan Cyrka ages ago and he was awesome. No idea what the album was called, never found it online, no idea.
Ritchie Kotzen has released a bit of his own stuff, and he was the guitarist on a recent(ish) Poison album. I know Poison is gash, but his guitar playing was simply in another time zone to the rest of the band. Check him out...

If you like amazing guitarists (not necessarily just rock/metal) then google Tommy Emmanuel. The guy is astonishing.

Also - a bit different

I prefer rhythm players to lead but I think it's just jealousy because I can't solo. Laughing

I discovered a British fella only yesterday named Andy James. (More metal than rock though).

It could be worth finding his solo albums rather than his band sacred mother tongue.
