A HAVE-A-GO pensioner has told of his misery after the yob who smashed up his car went unpunished - while he was thrown in a police cell for trying to stop the rampage.

This where in my opinion is when the law is an absolute joke and no wonder real criminals laugh at the system!

What an awful soliciter, lazy cunt.
Drunk guys walks towards you after being violent to your property, he says 'do you want to fight' and has a weapon.
Hitting him ONCE with what comes to hand is NO WAY more than self defence.

Same old, same old. The Police ''Service'' do not like anyone that stands up to yobs in an effort to protect themselves or their property.

They all are. Every single one of them. Worthless wastes of oxygen, living parasitically off a system deliberately constructed to require them to intercede. Lawyers have no more value than priests. In this case, the Fiscal was also to blame for prosecuting what sounds like a clear case of lawful defence of property and person.

Just a reminder: never, ever admit to or acknowledge anything. Make no statement to the police, no matter what evidence they have or say they have.

Always insist on seeing the duty solicitor: listen to their advice but don't feel beholden by it - if they were any good at their job, they'd have better things to do than talk to you.

There must be more to this story than we're being told.

As presented by the paper, the incident ticks every box for lawful excuse for using force.

The court couldn't convict because no offence has been committed according to the OAP's account.

Either the Scottish justice system is even more screwed than English (and I've always assumed it was the other way round) or there is more to the tale.

The court convicted because he put in a guilty plea. That he was admonished is a pretty good sign that the case would have been thrown out on its ear if he'd not listened to that mong of a solicitor and pled not guilty.

I can see the "thinking" there. He's retired, he's not going to be up before a court again - might as well go guilty and get a quick token wrist slap - or in this case a full admonishment - because what does justice matter when there's a backlog of cases to get through?
