 |
|
At the moment, heavy fighting is going on in the Libyan city of Zawiya.
This city of 300,000 is important to Gaddafi because it has one of Libya's three largest oil refineries.
Live updates can be found here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12307698
from CBC:
Quote:
Forces loyal to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi reportedly broke through rebel lines at an opposition-held city in fighting early Saturday that killed at least 30 people, witnesses said.
A doctor in the city told Reuters that mostly civilians were killed during the latest round of fighting for control of Zawiya, 50 kilometres west of the capital Tripoli.
The BBC reported that rebel fighters pushed government forces out of the city centre, before the army launched a second attack, using tanks to shell Zawiya's central square.
The battle for Zawiya could prove crucial to the regime's defence of the Libyan capital and for control of the nearby Tunisian border.
Residents said snipers are shooting at anyone on the streets and several fires are raging across the city.
"Please let the world know that we need some help. They have surrounded the city," a man who lives in Zawiya said. "Right now we hear a lot of heavy fighting. It's non-stop."
The rebels' setback in the battle for the city was the second in as many days.
A large arms and ammunition depot outside the city of Benghazi, the largest city in the rebel-held east of the country, blew up Friday in a massive explosion that completely destroyed an area three times the size of a soccer field.
Ambulance drivers who rushed to the site reported that at least 26 people were killed in the blast, which levelled several buildings, cars and trees.
It was not immediately clear how the depot blew up, but suspicion immediately fell on Gadhafi agents seeking to deny the rebels the arms and ammunition they need to fight their way westward toward the Gadhafi-held city of Sirte on the Mediterranean coast.
Residents join fight in port city
The rebels, however, fared better elsewhere, capturing the key oil port of Ras Lanouf from pro-Gadhafi forces in their first military victory in a potentially long, westward march from the east of the country to the capital Tripoli hundreds of kilometres to the west.
One of the rebels, Ahmed al-Zawi, said the battle was won after Ras Lanouf residents joined the rebels, who were armed with anti-aircraft guns and rocket-propelled grenades.
I have a feeling the US will want to get involved yet they won't touch Zimbawe or North Korea. Oil OIl Oil. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

As I've said, nobody gives a fuck about Genocide anywhere, people just don't give a fuck, if you claim that you do you are either lying to others, or to yourself for a Feel-Good-Feeling.

There is going to be World War 3 in the Middle East, though, nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care.
See you are the Victory Parade. ____________________ "Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. Remeber at a climate change rally as a test people in attendence were asked to sign a peitition to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide, they were told that it was a dangerous chemical polluting the earth and without question hundreds of people signed it including the head organizer of the rally. These people protesting for massive changes in the way the world works signed a petition to ban water.
Or perhaps when a member of goverment comes out and declairs its time to put a 0.25% tax on each share bought and sold in the stock market, it will generate 150 billion a year and save the third world as well as make the rich pay!!!People light up to the idea like petrol to a match how ever with near zero knowledge of the markets they fail to see how this would eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs, destroy volume/liquitity,increase volatility and generate no where near the amount stated as those figures are based on todays transaction figures, figures that wont be possible with such a tax.
Infact it would lose money as the amount generated per year liable to capital gains tax decreases and bank balances to the tune to of trillions flood out of the country to a far away market that has a smile on its face but hey the idea sounds good! So people jump on it just because it feels right.
There are so many cases of this kind of behaviour its easy for people to throw the good-feeling-seeker label on someone who claims to care about something.
Genocide is bad every one will agree with that how ever there are two things, status and respect. For the most part people gain status by doing something inline with the thoughts in there head and being successful at it and in turn they gain the respect of others.
When you see someone saying there going to do something over and over and every time they take no action or action thats so poor it results in nothing do you respect them? No...do you listen to them on the issue? No....
This is why when a person moans about issues they are seen by people like you in the light you describe, "they havent changed it they must not care"
People do care but in a different way, they have a compassionate understading to the best of there abilitys instead of being consumed by the emotion of something they are 100% powerless to correct.
World war three may be next week-30.000 died today of starvation and every one reading these words is 100% going to die yet they arent consumed by the emotion of it because if they were AS THEY CANT CHANGE IT they would become disfunctional..to survive you must be functional.
Remember three things:
1- Theres not a person here that wouldt stop the horrific wrongs happening in the world if they had the power to, something to think about next time you tell one of us you will happily profit from our untimely death.
2- Every one here has the same power to change the wrongs of the world as you..if you havent change it its useless looking to another or moaning about there degree of care.
3- Moaning amounts to jack shit. |

After claiming in his recent BBC interview that the people love him and that there are no protests in Libya, Colonel Gadaffi has just issued a new statement.
The DFS sale will definitely end today at 2pm ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

You must be very afraid of the thought that the pension is not going to be there for you, M_M.
Don't fear the reaper, accept it - it's gone, not getting any better & recovery Summer is going to be a blast. ____________________ "Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. First post in this threat still stands, everyone, bar a few have steered off-topic, even resorting to personal attacks.
I leave you with the abyss:
| Quote: | "Unfortunately, the dangers and challenges of old have been joined by new forces of instability
and conflict…. A new and more malignant form of global terrorism rooted in extremist
and violent jihadism; New manifestations of ethnic, tribal, and sectarian conflict
all over the world; The proliferation of weapons of mass destruction; Failed and failing
states; States enriched with oil profits and discontented with the current international
order; and Centrifugal forces in other countries that threaten national unity, stability,
and internal peace—but also with implications for regional and global security. Worldwide,
there are authoritarian regimes facing increasingly restive populations seeking political
freedom as well as a better standard of living. And finally, we see both emergent
and resurgent great powers whose future path is still unclear. |
