I've bRought a few of these, far the cheapest on ebay, and thick and good quality, black colour, more like 15 inches and stretches poss to 24 ...

I prefer to get them from a high street DIY store, they're much thicker and stronger and the hooks are coated in thick plastic, the oxford ones only have rubber caps on that always fall off and leave a sharp metal end to scratch bodywork. Usually cost about £1 for 2, I think Blackspur or the like make them.

Yeah the ends are no good ... i've found some tidy ones on ebay that are better for preventing scratches, but talking fiver a throw ..might get some if i get a new paint job ..

They are still a good bungee at 2 quid del, the lidl ones i have are shit, break .. which in turn can be messy, like when one of the hooks found it's way through my rear brake caliper !!

The best ones are british army issue ones. Seriously powerful elastic in them.

10x 12" ones for £10 delivered. Genuine ones have a white label with red writing on attached warning you about how badly you can injure yourself with one at full stretch.

You have no idea how weak and stretchy normal bungees are until you get some of these.

Helmet on and visor down before putting them on!

For many esp trips they would be great !! .. for me they would take my eyes out, and need to be black red or silver !!

I have a friend that lost the sight in one eye when a bungee he was attaching to his bike
came loose when he was stretching it and the hook caught him right in his eye

Bungees are bloody awful and as has been metioned above dangerous, proper cam or buckel 25mm straps are far better in every way.

They do my head in, have binned all of them ! .. too long pissing about, if you have enough good bungees .. you don't have to have them on mega tight ..

Also .. bungee whiplash when riding motorbikes should not be a major concern !!!

Yes i saw them on fleabay, about a tenner more or less, was tempted, i think straps and army bungees are win for trips, but for me and my best 5 quid tankbag in the world, bungees rule for out and about town ... shopping and what not ...
