I was think of getting my wheels powder coated gold. I was quite keen on the idea until i realised i would need need new bearings and brake disk bolts, aswell as the chance bolts with snap of round off when doing it. Do you think its worth it ?

a lot of people dont like gold so if your after approval then dont get your hopes up Laughing ,personally i love it and would say go for it. you shouldnt need new disk bolts as you can just use any old bolt of the same size to blank the holes. The bearings dont cost that much really and it's always a good idea to replace them if you have a good oppertunity like this.

Do it

If you are planning on keeping it and the look is worth more to you than the effort and cost in getting it done then cool, go for it.

If you are gonna sell it once you want somit more powerful in a year or two then save the cash for your next bike.

No point blinging somit you gonna sell unless you can find a set of wheels on ebay then buy them and paint them gold, then return the bike to std when you want a different bike and sell the gold wheels on ebay

I'll probably keep it a couple years, not to get a bigger bike as been ridding a few years and bigger doesn't do it for me (apart from VTR 1000 sp1).

Think I will get it done, just worried about snapping bolts and it getting expensive to sort as powdercoating only cost £85 .

I think it looks better. It would definately be worth it if your wheels needed a refurb but they look in good shape already.

Don't forget you'd have to pay someone £10-20 to whip the tyres off and put them back on afterwards.

no reason why you cant do it yourself, dont need many tools and what you do need can be had for less than £15. I've been changin my own tyres for a couple of years now, one of the best things i ever learned to do for saving money and hastle
