De restricting my mates AJS excatly 50

hi guys, ive done all the usual bit its just im confused now ive reached the exhaust.... i know normally theres a pipe to be cut crimped and welded but on his there is no such pipe, there is a little silvery box with a pipe coming of of it where the normal restrictor pipe is.


Its a chinease 2 stroke 50cc would this be a restrictor

variator washer and or some times a screw on plate behind the variator, carb/inlet restriction and exhaust restricion is the usual some chinese bikes have cdi restrictors too but normaly just need a wire cutting.
