Nope..He's talkin outta his arse...Just like a motorcycle city dealer told me. We was talking about the bhp rules and he happend to mention that the nsr was 12bhp and cant be de-restricted...But there not mechanics there sales men at the end of the day.

As long as its a UK bike i cant see you having any more problems than anyone else. Just a matter of taking your carb out (tedious but easy) and drilling out the sleeve in the exaust (can be a bit tricky)

Its 100% the same...Colours spec all the same only it'll cost you more for a 2002...

How many years has it been since the cbr and nsr got yearly colour updates...I'd like to know why they decided they'd stick with the tri colour this time round.

definatly talking shite..
the 2002 model is exactly the same as the 2001 model,
honda haven't changed the bike spec or paint scheme yet.
i have the 2001 model(see avatar) and have de-restricted it no-problems.
as Summy said the carb plate is a bit tedious but dead easy to do.
and the exhaust is more dificult/time consuming.

Remember they are only salesmen not mechanics.
they probably could tell you a lot of things about their own bike but then,
nothing about bikes they haven't owned.
i remember at Carnells a guy just brought a 2001 black NSR and was picking it up.
the sales guy couldn't get it started and was looking over the bike to see what he was doing wrong.
after a while i walked over and checked it out as i had my bike with me,
a 2001 tri color.
and the saleman asked me to have a look at it while he tried to get hold of a mechanic.
i had a look and did a quick check,
not in gear with stand down - check
fuel line on - check
choke out - check
engine cut out switch off - NO
so don't take their word for anything they are salemen.

not that it bothers anyone on here but it may to the 'normal' person that buys it new and doesn't tinker with it. the NSR hasn't even been updated to suit the 'new' lerner laws with allow 14.7hp (i think)
this is why i nearly went for the vara125. luckily i didn't!
