Use the screw driver to take out the circlip that was under the dust cover in the slider

Christ, talk about doing it the hard way. Ya just remove the dust cover, pop the circlip out, remove the bolt at the bottom of the forks that holds the damper rod & pull the forks apart. The bushing on the fork leg will hit the bottom of the seal & pop it right out. None of this arsing about with pry bars & screwdrivers etc.

& it has the advantage of leaving the rest of the fork still assembled.

yes i have the forks are completly dis-assembled other than the seals themselves.

the forks are apart stantions out and wrapped along with the dampers springs ect.

its just the dambed seals wont budge. i was tempted to cut them out but i fear damaging the forks themselves.

the stantions came out with a pop but the seals are so worn there was not enough force to even budge them.

& it has the advantage of leaving the rest of the fork still assembled.
