Hi,

Bought a used Aprilia Area 51, on starting all seems well except on the digital dash the right hand side has what looks like a digital temperature display (bars going up in increments)

From when it is started until it is hot all it seems to do is flash all of the bars on and off not display a temperature Sad

Am I misunderstanding how the display works or does this indicate a problem?

I notice it has no coolant so may drain it down and refill.

Any advice, I know this is simple probably but only ever had aircooled bikes and I don't have and can't find a manual for the bike online for guidance.

Thanks
Marcus

yeh refill the coolant.
probably just flashing to say its cold. do the cars rise as it gets hotter?
if so then the point where they tend to stay once warm is the right temp.(as long as the coolant is ok). if the bike runs ok and theres plenty of coolant in i wouldnt worry about it. let me know once youve had a look at the water level.

no coolant

Was that an exaggeration or not? Either way, liquid cooled bikes do tend to run cooler with coolant Thumbs Up Wink

Thanks for that help, will drain and refill at the weekend.

By saying no coolant I meant it had water only, no coolant in it!
