I just bought a Yamaha YZF600R and I'm wondering what the best tyre pressure to use (dont have the user manual).

It has bridgestone BT56 front and BT010 rear (I think).

Just checked a random Thundercat Haynes manual I found laying around and it states the following.

Arrow Rider only.
Front 32 psi (2.2bar)
Rear 36 psi (2.5bar)

Arrow Rider & passenger/high speed riding.
Front 36 psi (2.5bar)
Rear 41psi (2.8bar)

I've only used my cat on track, but I reckon I use in the region of 30 front/32 rear, but that's probably a bit low for the road.

Mine's a track bike, so never used it on the road. But have ridden it twice at Cadwell Park.

No real complaints, the suspension is too soft as standard, but that's easily sorted. I dropped the yokes 15mm down the forks and this does seem to have improved handling quite a bit, in that it seems more easy to flip over.

I've also down geared mine to 14/49, which has improved acceleration quite a bit, but to be honest it's still not quite up there with the newer/more focused 600.

I had to buy some new Pirellis for it as it has the 160 rear wheel and I couldn't get any race scrubs to fit it.

On the whole I really like it, there are a few minor points that need sorting, but for £800 I can't really complain. Now I just need to sell the road plastics before I bin it. Laughing

I'm on the lookout for a decent second hand race can for it, but these seem to be a bit few and far between. Confused
