Well there seems to be something amiss with the GS's engine at the moment....
I was riding along (well caning the GS) in 4th gear when the engine lost power and dropped to idle speed, so I pulled in the clutch and began to stop, I then let the clutch out and it sprang back into life .
Its only done this onces and It worried me, although shortly after and before this it was running perfectly fine.
Any ideas what it could of been?

Blocked tank breather? High fuel flow out of the tank when at high revs creates a vaccuum in the tank and the carb runs dry. As you clutched in and the revs drop, there is less demand on the fuel, float bowl fills up, engine picks up again.
My GPZ500s used to do this periodically, solved by blowing through the hole on the underside of the filler cap.
Sounds like a fueling glitch of some sort anyway, also consider partially blocked fuel filter etc.
Does a GT have a fuel pump? A mate had a fault on his ZXR9 where the fuel pump cut out intermittantly causing a similar fault. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
