Hi, i'm new to the forum, so hello to you all,
now i've been reading a few post about the cg125 but i'm wondering what people think of the marauder as i'm looking to buy one, what is the handling on these bikes and are they a sluggish machine? there area lot of hills around were i live and need somthing with abit of power.

Ive never had chance to ride one, but i have seen one, and sat on one, but unfortunately not been able to ride it.

what are they like ?

I've never had a go on the baby marauder (the 8oo's fun though), but my brother had the Xv 125 Virago, and if you're in the market for a 125 cruiser they're worth taking a look at. The're a much more stripped down, simpler bike than the bigger virago, and much better looking for it, with a much more durable finish than the marauder. The best thing about it though is the engine, whereas the marauder is a single (based on the GN or GS I think), the Virago is a 125 V twin, giving it tons of torque (for a 125) and more power than you would expect. The whole package is light and flickable, and handles much better than it's 'cruiser' looks would suggest. I couldn't believe how much fun it was (and I'd just got off my Speed Triple).

If you don't mind paying slightly more, i can tell you that the Suzook Intruder i've ridden was well handled and had a reasonable top speed. Nicely finished bikes too. These are true baby cruisers... Honda shadow is another good option, but i haven't ridden that. Despite having the learner legal 15bhp and the V twin thump, the weigh offsets the other nice touch of these bikes thus sapping it's performance. But if you want the look and the poise of a cruiser, then go for em Razz Thumbs Up

My mate had a GZ125 Marauder he liked the bike but he did get a bit sick of it in the end (After about 16 months). Its a custom so handling on U-turns is more difficult but nothing you can't handle I'm sure. They sound good being a 4 stroke and they look good to. 65mph will be your top end though. One other thing is if you by a new one from a suzuki dealer then you can get assisted insurance. Which means that they pay some towards your insurance I think my mate paid £500 for fully comp on a provisional license.

I had a quick go and it seemed ok to me but at £2500 I'd think about going for a Hyosung Comet GT same as me. There are the same price but only the comet is a V-twin and is just so much better.

Yeah cheers for the feedback guys, i actually got chance to ride one today, as i went to haggle about the price, "it was one lady owner" wich for once in a long while was actully true, it was some very tasty lass in tight leather leggings (say no more)

but she seemed a fair person so i got the bike for about 400 quid less than the asking price.
She did want 1700 quid for the bike, wich i was not willing to pay, so i got it down to 1300 wich seemed ok for a 2001 bike wich was in mint condition and had only done 1100 miles, but i did have my eye on another bike she had in her garage ( harley classic)
but i think i better learn to walk before i run Razz
