Right

I was in The Bike Insurer looking at insurance for a bandit as I want one once I've passed my test and had something wierd and I'm not sure if its happened to anyone else

The first quote I got was around £360 then about 2 hours late I check again as I was looking to see what the monthly price would have been and it quoted me £480! These were both 'deal of the day' and I'm positive I entered the information exactly the same.

Is this the best/cheapest route to finding insurance quote or would calling various different companies nearer the time to find the best one?

Its a bit hard to understand what you are trying to explain

Yearly payments will be a lot cheaper , usually around £50-£100. but it is a pain if you get a new bike.

and from experience it never seems to matter if you would like insurance in 2 months time or in 2 hours. The quotes are usually the same

yearly payment upfront will always be cheaper. A monthly plan is basically a small 12 month loan (normally provided by a company other than the insurer) which will incur a set up and high interest fees. If you cancel, just like a loan, there is sometimes an excess/early repayment/settlement fee to pay aswell!

I go monthly, but barter with the company on the phone to honour their annual premium, it hasnt failed yet!!

I re-did my insurance today.
I was with BikeSure, they 'renewed' my policy, which was £360 TPFT with the excess of £750.

So I did online quotes today, the best I got was MCE at £257 TPFT.

Horrified when I got the text from them saying its all been put through (there emails went to my spam folder Rolling Eyes )

So I called, and they were helpful, spoke to some guy who got my insurance down to £250 for the year.

I had loads of quotes from online companys, MCE was £303, then £270, down to £257.. All in the space of 2 hours.

Its a hassle, and a pain but its worth just calling around, rather then use online companys IMO - if you have the time.

I went onto thebikeinsurer and went with both cheapest quotes. Think it was with a company called Deal Direct or something like that.

£70.04 for a 125cc Hyosung Cruise II

and

£74.00 for a Honda Deauville NT650 V-4 with loads of extras added on it such as pillions included, more miles than the other bike and including commuting, etc.

Bit of an issue, unless im being a numpty....
Bikesure said £250 for the year, with £25 DD for 10 months.
I get my letter from Premium Credit saying its all ok and I will pay £32.56 per month for 10 months - £325.60 Question
Looked at my email that got sent from Bikesure saying nothing on how much I would pay per month (last year it did) but my premuim was £86ish in this email.
Am I wrong in thinking they should of told me this? as I would of cancled and gone with MCE who quoted £257 for the year.
I didnt have this when i took out a policy with Bikesure in 2009/10 as I was told £360, and £360 is all I would pay!
