Hi all,

Fitted new number plate bracket and mini indicators yesterday - go out just now to find the bracket bent and my number plate missing! Evil or Very Mad

Does anyone have an recommendation on the following:

-Bracket for an SV650S 2003?
-Number plate making place?

Karma in return, or a pint if you're local.

UPDATE:

Bike's back to all pretty now! Bought a bracket by Evotech from ebay. This one feels a lot stronger than the Motrax Rrsend I had before and fits much much easier. Got some more of the mini indi's that were damaged last time, I think it looks rather nice now and I'm quite happy Very Happy

Plates are cheapest off ebay.
Tell the police about the theft or you might get a fuck load of points from someone who sticks it on their bike to hide the fact they've no insurance.

I've got a standard rear number plate holder and standard under tray for a pointy SV if you want it?

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass - the OEM number plate holder is fugly and I replaced it for that reason alone Laughing

Suppose I'll just swallow the cost of a new bracket and plate...

Now I'm wondering if I should get a smaller plate? Laughing

Have you told the Rozzers? Seriously because you'll probably find that you'll get a load of letters from Boris Johnson saying you owe him parking ticket charges, along with varying chiefs of police asking you why the heck you were speeding.

If you're very unlucky you might find your face on Crimewatch after a stolen SV650 is used in a Jewellery robbery.

STORY TIME - Me and Boris:

Going to work a few years back on platform 10 of London Bridge, he shouted "YOU HAVE COOL HAIR" and elbowed his way through a platform full of commuters and I asked his aide to take a pic as proof Laughing

/story

But yeah, called the police, gave me a reference number and said they'd add it to the national computer or something or other. The guy on the phone was really polite and helpful for a change, got a traffic copper to confirm all the info he was giving was correct too!

My mate has a cheap tail tidy on his SV650s.

The other night it snapped off and was hanging by the indicators and extra light he had fitted behind the number plate.

It was only held on by two 5mm tabs each side, so obviously after a while it work hardened and snapped off. He was lucky I noticed it since it was pitch black and we were in the middle of nowhere.

If you are going to get a tail tidy go for the Oxfard Arsend, and snap of the hinge adjustment bit, leaving the hinge, indicator, and number plate, and mount it off the indicator part.

That way it won't snap and you can't loose your plate again.

That's the one I had Laughing

Which one?

There is the cheapy £15 or the Oxford £30.

The £25 Motrax one, and I was under the impression motrax = Oxford?

There is 2 different types. One has a hinge that is secured by two m6 bolts, and the other is fixed.

The fixed one is cheap crap. And the Oxford one needs a bit of modding to be completely safe.

I think I I hadn't have noticed it. It would have at the very lest smashed up the hugger, or thrown him off mid corner. Since he did say roughly a mile before we stopped he was going round a corner and felt the back go weird.

I had the hinged one.

Had. Crying or Very sad

That looks like you're asking to be pulled over Razz

Do you have a pic of a less police-attracting level?

Uh, just checking: you have let Plod know about the theft, right?

Once the NIPs, civil demands and summonses turn up, it'll look at bit hooky when you say "Oh, my plate was stolen in July, I just forgot to mention it."

Yep, got a crime reference number too.

Don't suppose I'll hear any more of it from the police unless my plate's on the back of another bike doing naughty things.
