I bought a Micra off Bendy back in around February and the V5 was sent off to the DVLA and bendy got the letter confirming that the vehicle had changed names. I never got (or don't remember getting) the V5 through, but never really thought about it until recently as Dusty is buying the car off me and was looking for it but assumed I'd lost it. The car is parked outside Dusty's and the council left a note on it saying "move it or we'll crush it" as someone had complained about where it was parked, rung the council up they were okay once it was explained. Decided had better sort out finding the V5 to put it into Dusty's name, but couldn't find it and didn't remember getting it so rang the DVLA to try to get them to send me another one as the first one hadn't arrived. They took the reg number and my name, and told me that they couldn't as it wasn't in my name, and couldn't tell me whose name it was in. Havn't got a tax reminder through when the tax ran out and neither did Bendy. Can apply for a new V5 though. But whose name could it be in? It can't be a typo as they'd have noticed it when I said my name over the phone, and would have got the V5 through with a typo. So whose name could it be in, can't think of anyone or any reason why it would happen. Confused Thinking Question

I think you can request the registered owners details from the DVLA, probably costs money though.

Is it still in bendy's name? Worth asking her to ring as if it's in her name they should tell her.

Believe you can Davo, and yeah think it does cost, and not that interested to find out.

They wouldn't tell me whose name it was in other than not mine, will ask her if she is able to ring them to find out.

Ste, there have been alot of complaints about this recently.
Rumour has it the addressing system the DVLA use was changed around, and around 3 months worth of V5 requests actually went walkabout. As is, no one from Swansea will confirm or deny it but there have been alot of people rather unhappy as to get another V5 issued is a fee of just under 20 quid.
Just fill in a V62 (Application form for a Vehicle registration certificate V5C) and pray they process it right this time Confused

**Edit: Meant to say, the V62 forms are available from most post offices, so really not hard to come by Smile
