Well, they dont rev anywhere near as high as the 600, so I don't really see why you'd want to fit one.

You won't have anything resembling an accurate rev count; I don't know if it uses the same gearing on the rev counter, and the faces won't remotely correspond to what the bike's actually doing.

It'll fit just on the clocks 600 redline is 12,000 rpm going up to 14,000, a 1200 one is 11,000 redline going to 13,000.
They have rev limitters in the CDI. Don't know where the CDI picks it's signal up from, don't think so but it might be the rev counter itself which may mean you would get a lower limit on your 6 if the 12 one sends its limit signal to the CDI.

You do realise its a digital tachometer?

The tacho will work fine but the scale will not show the top end of the 600s rev range.
