After fixing problem with revs on my aprilia, I suddenly discovered that there appeard another problem with revs.
Last problem was that bike didn't recieve rev, now that problem is fixed but now there's some other one.
When I drive my bike normally like 70 km/h and I want to press clutch, rpm don't fall down to 1500 rpm they just stay on the same where they were. This happens all the time.
I guess normally they should fall down when pressing clutch?
And sometimes when I have to stop on lights my rpm rises up to 4000 rpm without reason... after being there for like 5-10 sec“s they start to fall down to the normal 1500 rpm.
This happens only sometimes.

What could be wrong?

Pulling in the clutch doesn't make the rev's drop, the throttle controls them. When the clutch is pulled in there is no load on the engine and the revs will shoot up if the throttle is still open. So it sounds like you have a sticky throttle, probably due to over tight throttle cables.

So is it easy to fix over tight throttle cables?
Or do I have to go to service?

Hi

At that age the cables should be fine but if they are nylon lined cables oiling them with normal oils will wreck them. Possible this has happened already.

However the problem sounds like an air leak. Maybe main bearing seals being dead. Especially likely given how the revs decide to rise on their own when idling.

All the best

Keith

[quote]I had this problem with an Aprilia, it also knocked the whole running of the bike out because those things need to run like clocks.

Any way check the floats in the base of the carb, on the one I had one of the floats over time had filled with petrol affecting the float height. So if this is the case fix it and set the float height according to the manual, while your at it clean/blow out the jets and needle valve.

I don't know which Aprilia you have but I am guessing 04 to 07, you should be able to find a free PDF service/workshop manual on the net somewhere.

My aprilia is 09. But I guess it's same as 07.
First my problem was that bike's revs didn't rise over 6000 rpm and only 1-3 gears worked for like a 30 sec and then it cut out.
Anyway I didn't know what to do and took the bike to the Aprilia's fixing garage.
They fixed bike somehow. Now it works but looks like not as it should. They said that there were few problems, and one of them was in the carb with jets. They said there were wrong jets. Bike is pretty new and jets are changed 900 km ago so I think there shouldn't be problem with jets. But the float thing might be somehow defective
