Here's this weeks offering.

Decided to have breakfast at the seaside, in a village called Latchi, on the north west coast of Cyprus. It's about a 130 mile round trip for me, about half that for my mate Phil.
Set of around 07:30, to meet Phil near Paphos, decided to take the scenic route, but got a bit held up due to no fookin' road surface for 5 miles, Rolling Eyes , no signs, no warnings, just no road.

Met up then went over the mountains to Latchi.

Here's a few vids of some of the journey, first one's a bit boring, long straight main road from Paphos to Polis, a favourite haunt of the, usually non existent, traffic cops:-

This one's a bit better,on the way back through the mountains. The black lines on the road are strips of tar poured into cracks in the surface, they have no grip whatsoever! Shocked We get to about 1000m above sea level, near the Arch Bishop Makarios monument/shrine:-

This one is dropping down the southern side of the mountain around Armagetti:-

Anyway here we are parked up at the harbour in Latchi:-

A full English was partaken in this Taverna:-

A couple of shots of the harbour:-

Stopped of at the "Spring of Life Taverna" on the way back for a drink:-

A Honda with way too much chrome:-

I'm sure you'll all be relieved to hear I got ferkin' soaked on the way back. Got caught in a thunder storm in the Troodos mountains, rode about 3 miles in a monsoon before finding somewhere to shelter. No waterproofs and a jacket made out of mesh. Rolling Eyes

I now know that my, very well ventilated, Shark helmet does not like heavy rain, can't close the vents on top and the water trickles down your forehead, must remeber to take some gaffer tape next time!
Not often you see a tree in the middle of the road eh!

What I really like about that tree, is the warning signs; if you see them too late, you're wrapped round it and it's your problem.

None of this namby pamby litigation shit for the Cypriots, you don't see it, bollocks to you Thumbs Up

Would I be right in thinking those roads are like a skating rink when they're wet?

They weren't too bad, it was, absolutely, hammering down for half an hour. The roads are a lot worse when it's just drizzled for a bit. One of the problems, when you get heavy rain, is mud gravel and rocks getting washed onto the road, the mud is made of very fine dust, like talcum powder, and is extremely slippy!

The tree isn't quite as disturbing as the truck was, doing the U-turn on a blind bend, in the second video! Rolling Eyes

Did I spot you on the M6, around Carlisle, then again on the A75 heading towards Dumfries on the 8th August?

Whoever it was, was getting hammered by the side winds around "Metal Bridge".

Well someones got to be, I suppose! Mr. Green

That storm was a real freak, don't usually get anything like that until the middle/end of October. Then we'll get a few days and nights of thunder and lightning storms which signal the end of the hot weather, after that it cools down a lot.
If I'd have headed home along the coast, I would have stayed dry, but I CBA with the motorway. I know this because Phil said he got home and spent the afternoon in his pool.
I had a cracking view of the storm as I was travelling towards it, plenty of lightning strikes. Where I stopped in "Pera Pedi", is around 8 or 9 miles from my house where it didn't rain at all.

All part of life's, rich, tapestry I suppose!
I've never been to Skeggy! Shocked
