Today I went to see 2011 Tokyo Motor show.
There were not so many bikes.Honda NC700S and VFR800X(Crossrunner) had lower seat height compared to TDM900.
I didn't like riding position of GL1800.
I like Yamaha Y125 Moegi. This bike reminded me of the first Yamaha bike YA-1 Thumbs Up

Might be due to limt emissions for some export markets, large catalytic converters etc.

While that Y125 isn't quite the style I was thinking, I would like to see more ultra-light motorbikes using mountain bike style components.
Light weight and skinny tyres should offer some pretty good fuel economy, as well as possibilities for decent handling performance despite the lack of rubber, thanks to the lack of weight.

I think the Hayabusa is still a much nicer looking bike than the ZZR1400 but i wouldnt say no if i was offered a test ride on one. Looks quick.

Don't need a massive amount of metal when you've got a steel perimeter frame - doubly so when you look at the size of the front disc!

Totally agree, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It's got cheap and fun written all over it, and maybe the way to get people on motorbikes. Perhaps they should do them in 50cc to get car drivers to use them off 'L' plates.

250's seem to be growing in popularity again...I wonder if they'll make it to our shores

They're both 'concepts' I believe so not sure either will exist.

You can still get kits to convert your pushbike to a motorbike and I believe a few people have then gone on to put these through the MSVA to make it properly road legal.

I've got an electric push bike which is along similar lines - standard cheap push bike with a front wheel hub motor. Ok, mine won't quite hit 20mph under it's own power, but is fine for around town and really liking it so far for day to day stuff.

My thoughts as I typed it. Not sure it's just the licence thing though, I'd quite happily have a 250 for day to day stuff.

Likewise - problem is few people agree so there aren't any on the used market unless you are willing to buy old or chinese.

Does anyone else think that's epic?!
Granted there are no specs and either performance or battery life will be a disappointment, but it's a proper bike maker doing a proper electric bike. Not just any bike manufacturer but the one that made ASIMO.
I never ride very far (40 miles max) and it's usually a long time between rides (at least a day), so an electric bike would suit me. It'd make for a damn cheap commute too!

That NSR250 looks good. I wonder how lap times will compare to the 125's

Note it's an NSF250R.

Oh and Honda's had an electric bike out for some time: https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/honda-electric-bike-reduced/91863654
Something like that makes a hell of a lot more sense for the town commute. All well and good having cheap power, but those batteries in the new one are going to cost a lot more per mile.

More to the point, the RC-E is just a concept as far as I know; so it doesn't really exist and is about as good as a doge tomahawk Smile.

I do think electric bikes do have a place for commuting - and there's plenty already doing that. But so far I don't think they're worth it for much more.

Honda's Moto 3 Bike.

The switch to Moto 3 looks to be breaking Aprilia's dominance with KTM doing a factory bike as well.

Thanks for the photos. Thumbs Up

Not liking the styling of the exhaust ZX14R or the Versys. The ZX14R has a suzuki look about it....wind tunnelled the looks away. Sad

Also...i want to see more bikes with that Y125 Moegi look. Let's have some diversity on the roads. Bet it weighs less than a Halfords mountain bike. Cool
