I have my bike test on Wednesday.

Mod 2 I will do fine on, no doubt.

I'm so scared about Mod 1! I fear I will hit a cone doing the swerve! I can do everything else fine, just not really practice the swerve. I did on the road while out with the instructor, but there were no cones...so I have no idea how it will be on test day.

Any tips on the swerve?

Swerve is NOT hard, dont think about it. It is a MASSIVE gap.
Go round the bend at 20ish, pin it in 2nd/3rd if you are on a 125 and you'll fly through.

Close the throttle after flicking it back the other way and prepare to stop.

I thought I would do fine on mod 2 when I did it... I failed Laughing Down to me being a general idiot though and riding in the right hand lane where I should have been in the left.

Mod 1 is easy peasy mate Thumbs Up Good luck!

The only difference in the advice that I would give you is to throttle off as you hit the speed trap. But definitely pin it as you come out of the bend. In 2nd if you're on a 500...

I am doing it on a 500.

They get speed so fast compared to my crappy little 125! Razz

Do it all in 2nd, you'll be fine.

Just get to a decent 30-35 and go for the swerve. You'll be told how if you was slow and get to do it again.

I think I scored 62 and 64 on the swerve and emergency stop... was told thats a little high? So aim for close to 30!

62 is close to 40 haha!
The speed isn't an issue, just not hitting the cones!

Throttling off as you hit the speed trap is good advice. I did this, but did it a little too soon, so I was a couple of k's under the speed. I kind of knew I was cos I'd really only treated it as a trial run knowing I'd be allowed another run so long as I didn't hit any cones.

Second time, bit of pressure on, but throttled off a bit later and was 2 k's over the min, passed no bother.

The nerves kill you more than the swerve, cos in reality, if you're confident, and you've had good general training, it's a piece of piss.

Andy.

They get faster. Wink

Good luck. Above all, don't let it get to you.

Been looking at a GPZ900. So tempted! Insurance being £300 too. So cheap. Razz
