Kris, I think most jackets are made to be like that, as they are designed to zip to the trousers. But RST as far as I'm aware anyway, make their jackets longer so you can comfortably wear them without the trousers.

I am tall and have a tribal jacket. I only ware it with my tribal trousers, i have to pull them up quite far to reach the zip, but they ahve given a lot so its much better now than it was.

Yeh they are designed to go with the trousers which I don't have atm, though the jacket is supposed to be short at the arms and waist I am presuming.
