I haven't bought any new gear in years so I'm a bit out of the loop in where to look. I'm wanting some boots for trackday use but it would be nice if they were waterproof too so I was looking at the RST Tractech WPs. Anyone know the best places to use? M and P that I used to use have them at £109, same as everywhere else I've looked.

Don't know if M&P charge postage ?
Ebay SEARCH brings up...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RST-TRACTECH-SPORT-WP-1534-WATERPROOF-SPORTS-MOTORBIKE-BOOT-BLACK-UK-10-5-/380381930999?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Boots&hash=item589087a5f7

Cheapest when googled
https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/66580?r=Froogle
But I've never heard of them.

https://www.thevisorshop.com/acatalog/Boots.html

Usually pretty good in terms of price, range, and delivery.

Ok ok, I take the hint Laughing

I did search ebay and using google shopping but just found a few hits at the same £109. The £99 ones are the non waterproof ones. Just wondering if there was somewhere cheaper. I'lltake a look at the visor shop though.

Have a good look about, there are some great bargains about depending on your budget.

Look for boots which have been discontinued and shops are trying to get rid of them with some healthy discounts.

I'm looking for some boots so will keep an eye out. What size and budget?

Size 9 and as cheap as possible Laughing I do want proper race style boots though with toe sliders etc.

I'm trying to prove you can do trackdays on a budget...so far the combined total of the bike, track mods, back protector and leathers is £950 for a setup good enough to run in the fast group Laughing The only weak link is my boots which are very crap... I wouldn't want to come off at 150mph wearing them Shocked

I have the non WP version of these and I like them. When I was doing my research TCX boots seemed to have really good reviews. Also if you buy from ghostbikes you can get a small discount.

05GB75 for £5 off if you spend £75 or more.
05GB10 for £10 off if you spend £150 or more.

Probably not worth buying from ghostbikes just because of the discount, but if you're buying from that site anyway, you might as well save a fiver.

Never had any TCX boots but have been putting a lot of leg work for when I get some next week. Have been impressed by the looks and safety features of the boots.

I'm hoping to get some TCX Competizione S Gore-Tex as they have been discontinued and some really good prices (£175) plus great reviews. Just have to hope I can find some in my size next week.

Hmmm...I see I can only get up to size 10, I am a 10.5, usually buy 11. What size do you have? Would you say they make "roomy" shoes or is it a very correct fit?

Seems like a solid shout, and I need some cheap waterproof boots. Also, how much was postage? And can you walk in them as well?

Postage is around £6 iirc. They are very comfy to walk in. I wear mine with 2 pairs of thick socks (I'm a size 10) and there is still plenty of room to wiggle my toes.

Thanks for all the replies chaps Thumbs Up Lot of good suggestions.

I was thinking more along the lines of more expensive boots that have been discounted rather than boots that are cheap in the first place as they have to be pretty good for the track but I'll definitely look into those wested ones. Could do with finding reviews but unless they're from someone that's had a major crash in them it won't tell you anything about the protection they might provide Laughing

Have you made a choice yet??

Know what you mean regarding reviews. Order a pair of the TCX ones I was on about above.

Last post on 1st page Thumbs Up

Was speaking to brother-in-law who put me in touch with one of his mates who has the non WP pair. Managed to get a good look at his boots which definitely made my mind up for me.

I've had these boots for ~5 years now and they're still waterproof now. I've crashed in them twice as well Thumbs Up and done around 30,000 miles in them. Polished them maybe once a year.

One of the plastic holes for bolt which holds the toe slider on has broken off, however it (toe slider) only occasionally spins round. The massive rear ankle support can also feel quite restrictive and squeaks a lot. If I walk in them a lot they also rub a small circular patch of hair on my calf giving me a random bold patch on my legs.

So just the 5 years use, 2 crashes and 30'000 miles Shocked

hmmmmmmmmm

Might have to go back to my Spada Crushy Toes on that review lol.

If I get that type of use (minus the 2 crashes) I would happily pay twice the price I did.

Have been pottering around in them today, pretty darn comfortable.... no squeaks as yet but have silicon spray at the ready Thumbs Up
