Good afternoon all. I thought i'd post this here rather than pictures, partly because it isn't just my bike Mr. Green

Well last week i rode past this lovely bike, and well i bought it the next day. It was a great price, and has everyhing on it i'd want. It had also had some work just done to it (new tyres, chain/sprocket set) so i was happy that it would be fairly good to go with all the main expenses just being done. It came with an Akrapovich exhaust and a double bubble screen too, which are the two things i was looking to do to my next bike.

I traded in both the other bikes in my sig, plus a bit of money for this new bike. May seem like a bad deal, but both bikes needed work (one needed LOTS) and MOTs, so i was happy with it.

So anyway, in the spirit of getting some new wheels, i hopped on and rode up to Portsmouth on the weekend to have a jolly with my bro on his SV. It is obviously quite a bit faster than my old 500, but absolutely everything about it feels better. Better brakes, handling, smoothness etc. Love it.

Let me know what you think, and any ideas for small extras/modifications are welcome to make it a little better. Cool

So here be some pictures and junk.

Nice bike. I always find it amazing how Kawasaki green is OK on Kawasakis, but you would never ever have it on any other bike or car in christendom!

What were Akropovic called before they were called Akropovic?

It says Akrapovich on it, but on the top. Couldn't care less if it was real or not, it sounds nice and looks alright. Any chance you could let me know how you know it's not an Akra can?

Oh and how did you come to the conclusion it's been crashed and resprayed?

Not standard panel pattern/scheme and looks to be a different colour slightly to stock.

I'd get new tyres, 207s weren't known for being great.

How can you tell it's a different colour?

Well i did suspect it wasn't an original panel because the design isn't one i've seen before, but it's all HPI clear, so obviously not a wrongun.

They are brand spanking, so i'm a little more than sceptical about changing for new ones already. Has anyone had any experience with the Sportmax 207s? Any reccomendations for replacements?

So why exactly are you being a prick towards the OP? He only wanted to ask for some clarification as to why other people though it had been crashed.

Like I said, I suspected it wasn't the original paintscheme when I bought it, which I detailed above. I also didn't pay lots of money, it was a bargain as far as I'm concerned.

Im sure it has just been dropped or had a slow speed spill, but again, don't care, its a bike to be ridden, not inspected. Now go away please.

He's still got a point, though. It's a non-standard paint job; doesn't mean that bike's scrap, just that it's seen asphalt at some point.

Might be worth asking the guy when he got the panels sprayed, and check for any abrasion damage on the casings. It'll tell you how hard the slide was, and whether you'll need to check for anything else.

I've had the 207s they are rubbish, had them on my cbr6 do little feel and have no grip in the wet. I didn't find them at all confidence inspiring. They are a budget tire..

Looks like a nice bike though!

Now that's the sort of response I'm after. I have had a quick look over it to see if I could spot any other damage, and I couldn't. I got it from a garage myself, so I'll pop in and see if they have the details of the previous owner. Cheers Thumbs Up

Cheers Blackwolf. I'll see how they fair for now, but it's good to know I need to take it easy in the wet. To be honest it feels like a million steps up from the almost bald things I was running on the GS.

Brutal honesty is BLUEX5's mode and modus Laughing

You'll need to get the panels off for a proper look.

There's brutal honesty and there's being a bit of a dick about it.

Now that I remember, there is a small scratch on the case on one side. Ill see if i can get a shot of it up here. I'll get all the panels off soon for a better look anyway.

Anyone shed any light on the exhaust then? It says Akrapovic on it...
