To be fair, carrying a backpack with 30kg on your back may not be the best idea. That kinda weight would be better strapped to the seat, cant be too comfortable with that strapped to your back either.

What kinda back pack are we talking about? Hiking/biking/normal?

Ever since my big crash, where I somersaulted and landed breaking the glass bottle in my rucksack, I've not carried anything on me personally when on the bike ever since...

I realised what a lucky escape I had...if that bottle had pierced me in the back/vital organs...I might have not escaped with so few injuries as I did. Idea Exclamation

I always, always fix the chain/goods I am carrying to the bike, never to me...

I had a lucky escape. Thumbs Up

Mate, when your straps are showing signs of wear, why the fuck did you put 30kg of shit in it?
I have to cart a shit tonne of stuff too and from college, i was using a small nike bag at first and used to leave stuff at the GF's for this very reason! I own a FOX skate bag that her mum bought me as a Xmas pressent and i carry everything in, cos its safe to do so.

Bungie cord(s), a bungee net and/or luggage rack etc.

I never wear a backpack on the bike.

i've carried around 70kg in a normal puma backpack once when i made a run to the builders merchants for some lead. Cant imagine what would happen if a strap snapped on that, never really thought about it at the time Laughing

Something very similar to this ^ +1

Also on another note peeps, think about what you`ve got in you pockets.
A loooooong time ago I had a minor "off" and the keys and bits I had in my pocket dug into my hip something terrible!
They made a minor "off" into a trip to hospital Sad
