I’ve only ever seen Gladiator once and I do remember how powerful that scene is but I don’t remember onions in the room. I’m going to have to watch that again soon.
I never seem to be able to hold it together watching Forest Gump, he loses so many important people and over a lengthy period of time, it’s just something that gets me every time.
The end scenes of ‘The lives of others’...after the immense struggle of the couple and the realisation the German interrogator had a heart, when he finds the book written for him all those years later...man that’s a tough one.
Tom Jane in the best Punisher movie with John Travolta. I remember having a day off and thinking ‘I wonder if it can top Dolf’s attempt’. It was different, the soundtrack really impressed me, fitted the movie so well. I was stoned and the scene where he holds his wife and sons heads in his arms...arrgh onions! ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Quite a few actually, films give me that opportunity (not that i'm necessarily looking for it) that other things in life don't seem to. Maybe it's because you are relaxed or something, or they catch you off guard, don't know.
Maybe i'm just a big girl.
Off the top of my head:
When The Wind Blows - have to control my viewing of this one, as the first time I saw it, I just lost it, completely. Can't explain why, there will be a reason though. All the more surprising for a cartoon. Just found it very affecting. Maybe if you can see a parallel or are/were particularly close to your grandparents.
Grave of the Fireflies
Apollo 13, every time.
Forrest Gump
Saving Private Ryan
Shawshank Redemption
Green Mile
Marley and Me
The Wind that Shakes the Barley
Brassed Off
Scent of a Woman
The Shooting Party
The Killing Fields
Dead Man Walking
Missing In America
A.I
Driving Miss Daisy
Shine
The Pianist
Vanilla Sky
Memphis Belle
Dark Blue World
The Battle of Britain
Das Boot
My Boy Jack
K:19 The Widowmaker
LOTR: Return of the King
anything by Mike Leigh usually, his serious ones anyway
I watched Toy Story 3 the other night and nearly went, so yeah. I get it bad.
I probably need to go and lie down on some professional's couch. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

Chronicles of Riddick - I cried when I realised that I would never have the opportunity to use the words "I'll kill you with my tea cup." and mean them..
Nah seriously, any movies where there's incurable illness and romance intertwined tend to get to me for some reason - there's quite a few of those *shamefacedly hands in his man-card to have 150 man-points removed*. ____________________ - CBT: 02/01/11 Theory: 26/04/11 Mod 1: 19/05/11 Mod 2: 19/08/11
