only has a pic of the loom there i after the actual wiring scheme. thanks for the reply though

the picture did the job great and got the prob sorted now.

After some wire following turned out to be a corroded wire which went to the key switich in the ignition. Found it after a bit of following from your diagram.

i do time to time , to protect wires & connections , is spray a uncolored warnish (cellulosic , not glycero) on the exposed parts

Vaseline, the spray you mention, they both do the trick, I was merely pointing out that vaseline could also be used, agreed, it does attract dust and can be a bit mucky if you put shed loads on, but the muck that builds up helps waterproof.
