Sorry mate I didn't see you, even though you were stationary, parked, behind me, a reasonably large object and covered in shiny metal. Basically I don't look behind when reversing, and I'm a giant fanny Thumbs Up

Make sure you go down the police station and report them for failing to stop and failing to report a accident, as well as informing your insurance company once you have the crime number.

Dont expect the police to do anything though as l had a old biddy reverse into my car last year and drive off without stopping l only caught her thanks to my CCTV system but the police did,nt prosecute her even though the evidence was more than enough for her insurance company to admit liability when she claimed she was,nt even there.

I've seen someone, with an audible reverse sensor (which even I could here), reverse in to a large metal pole before and nearly knock it out of the ground that it was cemented in to (kind of a soil surface on the ground). They weren't even going very fast, they just didn't stop reversing once they hit it. Laughing

But that's a right bummer... glad you got the details though. I'd be tempted to try and sort it outside of insurance first to risk a hike in premiums for something blatantly not your fault.

£200 for the end can, indicator and one of your kidneys sounds like a great deal.

Eh, it's not to see that there are some (belatedly, potentially) honest folk out there.

would of said £300 a new end can is expensive plus your time spent mending it all etc.

In all fairness, the guy knocked on his door, offered cash to sort it out, saves the insurance hassle for everyone.

Sounds like he did the right thing to me, no need to try and get more out of him just because he accidentally reversed into the bike - anyone can do idiotic things like that...

Fair play to the guy, no one was injured, he is happy to drop you £200.

Stubby the can - £0, generic indicators from ebay £10. £190 to save whilst unemployed Thumbs Up

Ive just been a witness, as i saw some old biddy drive down the side of someones car then drive off, taking the bumper with it.

Fair bit of damage not just a little kissing of bumpers.

Luckily i got his details, doubt the police will do anything for faliure to stop though, just means the guy whos car was fucked gets paid out Thumbs Up .
