Has anyone had this before? Ive had it on and off for 3ish years, but recently its been really bad. Only in my left eye, the lid is usually swollen and itchy, it can be really painful.
Doc/optician thinks its an allergy, ive so far cut out aftershave, shower gel, changed shampoo, use minimal if any spray deodorant, but it still remains...left eye only.

The only things i can cut out now are smoking, and caffeine. But could either of these cause such an issue? Anyone had this before? Im taking allergy eye drops and allergy nasal spray too...

Stop taking allergy crap. They can do more harm than good if you use them all the time.

Put some e45 or other moisturising cream on your eyelids before you go to bed.

Repeat for a week. See what happens.

The worst that will happen is they still itch but they will be really nice and smooth.

Is it eczema? I get it on both my eyelids, but more so on the right (I think I rub my right eye more maybe because I'm right handed).

Have you been patch tested? It could be something you're putting on your eye, not what you're eating.

Optrex is a pain to use but soothes any inflammation of the lids.
You can get it as drops which is far easier to use.

I also have the cure, and will sell it to you for £99.99. You will get a very complicated and advanced medical treatment cheaper than Trasler's.

I was thinking the same thing, it does sound like blepharitis, but the optician should have spotted that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blepharitis

It's Scabies.

A lot of gay people suffer from it. The mite normally lives in the hairs around the Rusting Sheriff's Badge but if one's been rimin' some dude they could have crawled over to one's eyelash as one Nummm Nummmed.

Is it your eyelid that's itchy or your eyeball?

Eyelid is still skin. It took a hell of a lot of effort to get referred to my hospital's dermatology department, my local GP kept giving me moisturisers which didn't help - the dermatology department gave me patch testing which showed a few allergies, and they gave me some cream which actually works.

Can you find a picture on the internet of what it looks like, to show us?

I had a similar problem ages ago, turned out my tear ducts were blocked.
Requires minor surgery, (in and out in half an hour), to rectify the problem.
