Right,
Well I'm after something that's going to give me some traction on the knees so I don't crush my balls every time I brake.
StompGrips look great but at £40 a sheet I can't, and wont, spend on them.
I've been poking around to see if there are any rip offs, after all, its just a rubber sheet right? I know its a fine balance between adhesive which doesn't rip your paint off and a glue that doesn't keep coming off.
I've found this and wanted to know what you guys think? Reckon I could cut this to size and use it?
Bear in mind, I need to be careful with my paint as it's an aftermarket paint job and I don't want my tank getting a boo boo

Maybe you could try planning ahead a bit better so you don't have to brake so hard?
Much less likely to break your balls that way....... ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

I've just bought some Techspecs on the recommendation of Bunglehaze on here. They're like stopmgrips but less pointy.
My bike has a narrow tank and a seat that slopes forward a fair bit; not ideal for hard braking and I couldn't get myself properly locked in with my outside leg when hanging off. No worries now, they're awesome.
Unfortunately for you, no cheaper than Stompgrips.
This stuff is a cheaper Stompgrip imitation and could be what you're after. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600

Yeah, I saw he Eazi-Grip one. Still, at £25 its a bit steep thought isnt it? For what it is.
I also say the TechSpec ones but they seem to all be opaque black ones. I couldn't find a clear one. And once again, no cheaper than StompGrips.
So you don't reckon the £5 one I linked to is going to cut it? |

Gotta be worth a punt for that much. It doesn't say about any residue left behind or any effects to the paintwork; might be worth firing them a question about it? The stuff wouldn't matter much on a Motox bike but does on your road bike!
The Techspecs probably aren't ideal looks wise but don't chew away at your leathers like some people have reported about Stompgrips. They are individually pre-cut to your tank too - the glue can also be used over and over with no lasting damage. I'll try and take some photos tomorrow, it doesn't look bad at all. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600
